Lost Boys Center

Today was my third time visiting these guys, and I think we will be doing a video on them as well. This is for a story on the Lost Boys Center of Arizona, a community support center for Sudanese refugees in Phoenix. Phoenix has the largest Sudanese population out of any state because of the good weather and resources for them here. These guys have been through a lot, and been covered by a lot of different media outlets. Lots of editing to do, but these are the ones that jumped out at me.

...Revenge!

Today was very busy, with three shoots back-to-back for the State Press Magazine. When I finally got home tonight around 6, I fell asleep for a couple hours, then Amelia and I watched and old cult movie, Harold and Maude. It was very nice, but napping at night makes for a late bedtime.

This is for an upcoming story in SPM about seeking revenge on others. I immediately thought of Eva as the only model I really wanted for this; and she totally came through. I told her the 'look' and she created it perfectly. I think it turned out decent, considering we shot it in under two hours. The "keying the car" shots were more difficult than I thought to compose, so I am a little iffy on those. This is my first time really working with a model in such a theatric way and bringing the photos into post production; let me know what you think. I also used all natural lighting for this, no flash.

Thanks again Eva!

Photo of the day

When I saw these two standing next to each other, I knew something was going to be funny. The second I raised my camera, this happened, then they walked apart.

Taken this morning at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Phoenix during a naturalization ceremony for David, one of the 'lost boys' of Sudan who I was covering for the State Press Magazine. More photos of them coming soon.

Archive, Edit, Delete, Repeat

Here are some silhouettes and stuff I had sitting around... I have been trying to sift through what I have shot this summer and it is quite the task. My butt is getting sore and the inside of the house is looking boring.

Shot these two while on a hike with my sis and Nat at the beginning of summer;
And these are some outtakes of Warped Tour; what can I say, I am a sucker for pretty skies and sk8ers... haha.
